Nearly 68 percent voting in the second phase of Lok Sabha election but zero on 90 voting centers in Srinagar

In the second phase of the Lok Sabha election, there was a small turnout compared to the last time. According to reports, 67.7 percent of the voting took place in this phase. In fact, in these seats, 69.5 percent voting was done in 2014. However, there is an important fact here that this time, no single vote has been cast in nearly 90 polling stations in Srinagar.

In the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, on Thursday voting was held on 95 seats in 12 states of the country. Prior to this, on 11th April, 91 constituencies were voted. There was 69.4 percent of the turnout in the polls. The voting percentage on the first phase seats was also less than the 70.6 percent in 2014. According to the Election Commission, even though the last figures of the voting may be slightly more amended, but this time compared to 2014 polls, the voting in both the phases is decreasing.

However, this time voting figures are interesting in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar seat. Around 14 percent of the voting is held here. This figure is less than 25 percent of 2014 but more than 2017. There was a Lok Sabha by-election in 2017. Then about seven percent voting was done. National Conference's Farooq Abdullah was elected. However, the other aspect of this time polling is that there is no single vote on 90 polling stations here.
